Global Network for Education and Research on Renewable Energies in Berlin

On June 13, scientists, parliamentarians and industry representatives discussed how to disseminate knowledge about renewable energies on a global scale more efficiently without interfering with intellectual property rights of research institutes and companies.

Many participants emphasized the importance of knowledge transfer via a public platform. The basis for such a knowledge transfer is REnKnow.Net; which was founded in 2005 as an initiative of the 'Institut für Solare Energieversorgungstechnik' (ISET) and the German Green Party (Bundestagsfraktion Bündnis90/Die Grünen).

Mrs. Bärbel Brumme-Bothe, a high level representative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, underlined the importance of this initiative and ensured: "The BMBF will continue to support REnKnow.Net in a positive way".

REnKnow.Net was presented at the 11th Kasseler Symposium Energy Systems Technology

"Information and Communication Technologies for tomorrow's the Energy Supply" was the motto of this year's Kassel Symposium on Energy and Systems Technology on 9th and 10th November.

It was an opportunity to present the latest version of the Internet platform REnKnow.Net to the participants in the foyer of the new Electrotechnology building.

REnKnow.Net was presented at the annual FVS conference

"On September 21st and 22nd ISET, on the occasion of the annual Conference of the Research Association for Solar Energy (FVS) in Berlin, presented the internet platform REnKnow.Net, which is specially designed for the exchange of the most recent research results and so is exactly in line with the motto of this year's conference "Research and Innovation for Sustainable Energy Supply".

Conference participants and visitors were able to see for themselves, within the framework of a public exhibition, the advantages of a knowledge transfer database.
